Sheila with Kohon Designs worked tirelessly with me to turn a blueprint into a beautiful home. From the tiles in the kitchen that everyone comments on to the schluter for the showers (I didn’t know what schluter was) to the amazing quartz countertops and island, Sheila tied it all together. Best designer you’ll ever have! Sheila is extremely talented and has a keen eye for what will truly look the best. Her creativity was instrumental at both my condo (2011) and then later in our forever home (2016 onward). We have worked with Sheila on 2 homes in the past and currently working on our third one with her. Sheila has provided us with excellent decorating guidance as well as helping with purchasing the right furniture to fit our needs and design preferences. She is excellent at understanding and figuring out what we want and need to transition our houses/room into a special comfortable home/space. She comes up with the most amazing ideas for unique decorating from choosing the right paint colours to brilliant ways to display our cherished items. In addition Sheila has custom designed and arranged the building of two large furniture items – a stunning pub table and a wall to wall built-in TV and entertainment unit that uniquely stored all of our electronic components including speakers, subwoofer and a rather large collection of CD’s and DVD’s. These items were stunning and very functional additions to those rooms. We thoroughly recommend Sheila for all aspects of decorating, design and execution of her incredible ideas.

Any qualified designer can make a house beautiful but Sheila combines her talent with an uncanny ability to tap into her clients’ sentiments and perceptions and transforms them into  interpretations that reflect what is not only beautiful to the eye but to the heart of the home owner.

Sheila acted as our designer and often ‘General Contractor’ providing guidance on all our interior decor matters relating to a very extensive renovation we undertook starting 2011. She provided invaluable guidance in regard to color schemes, furniture selection, flooring and tiling, painting, lighting and accessories, and even provided guidance on selection of our required trade professionals. This renovation involved a complete redesign of the interior of our home. We are ecstatic about the results Sheila achieved. It is a true testament to her talent that relatives, friends and guests who visit our renovated home continually comment on the inspiring impression it has on them. She is very confident and creative. It was a pleasure to work with Sheila. While she has definite opinions in regard to all decor related issues she LISTENS to the client and works hard to understand the needs of the client. She is an honest, open and beautiful person and very comfortable to work with. We would characterize our renovation as a “high end” project. A substantial investment was committed to the renovation including the interior design and the decor package. So while the budget was substantial Sheila always looked for good value when making product recommendations. We came to see her as a very practical interior decorator who can deliver good value for both modest and high end projects. The desire to provide good value to her clients was also apparent in her time management and flexibility on the project. She was very professional and understanding of our own busy schedule and we always felt that we were getting exceptional care and value. I recently had the pleasure of working with Sheila Hahn of Kohon Designs. I was asked to list a heritage property in Glenora and knew that the property required some interior decorating advice prior to getting it on the market. The property was lovingly restored to 1908 with heavy antiques and dark finishings which obviously would appeal to a very limited market. I asked Sheila to provide some advice with respect to how we might go about getting the property to look ‘lighter’, more ‘current’ and to present in away that would appeal to a broader market. The property had previously been listed for 147 days with very few showings and no real interest … it was obvious that some things needed to change! Sheila and her crew arranged for painting, ‘refreshing’ and staging to present a much brighter and more contemporary look and feel to the property. Sheila went well beyond the call of duty and worked under very tight timelines and budget constraints. In the end, Sheila presented a property that was saleable. I received many comments from realtors who stated that they could not believe it was the same property. The property had 6 showings over a two week period and sold in under 30 days in a much more difficult market than when previously listed. I believe that the success of the sale was due, in part, to the advice, expertise and commitment that Sheila showed to the project. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sheila to anyone looking for a committed, hard working interior decorator with a keen eye for both detail and value.
